Make Your Own Bath Mat Very Easily out of Corks!

Project from Alex -

Your home-made bath mat not only looks super, but is also practical. With the grippy anti-slip rug underlay underneath the mat made from bottle corks, you will always have a firm footing – even on wet bathroom floors.

DIY guide for your non-slip bathroom underlay

You will need…

  • Cromford anti-slip rug underlay 60 x 120 cm
  • Approx. 200 corks
  • Wood glue

  • Knife / scissors
  • Brush
  • A tape measure

Let’s go

Step 1

Cut the corks apart longitudinally. Take great care when doing so!

Step 2

Cut the anti-slip rug underlay to the desired size. We recommend 50 x 80 cm.

Step 3

Set the corks out ready on your mat so that they create the desired pattern.

Step 4

Apply a layer of glue to the cut side of the cork using the brush. And lightly press all of them down onto the underlay. The glue should be allowed to dry for at least 24 hours.

You’re done!
