Flowerpots with animal faces from d-c-fix® adhesive foils

DIY for animal lovers: giving your flower pots an animal look

Project from Eva -

Spring is here! The sun is shining fir longer and it’s warming up outside. In green corners here and there, our eyes can light upon the first flowers in bloom. After a good old spring clean, why not add spring redecoration of your home to your to-do list?

Chic plant pots and the right shelf in pastel colors will bring spring into your home. With d-c-fix®, you can achieve the same look by following the simple instructions in this tutorial. Give it a try!

You will need…

  • A roll of d-c-fix® plain paint-effect foil in gray matt
  • A roll of d-c-fix® plain paint-effect foil in white matt
  • A roll of d-c-fix® plain paint-effect foil in black matt
  • d-c-fix® tool kit with smoother and cutting knife

  • Measuring tape
  • Pencil
  • Scissors
  • Old flowerpots

Let’s go

Step 1

First measure the height and circumference of the flowerpot. Transfer the dimensions onto the backing paper of the gray adhesive foil. Then cut out the foil piece.

Step 2

Now stick the gray adhesive foil on the entire flowerpot. Smooth all of the adhesive foil area well with the smoothing blade. Then cut away the excess film using a cutting knife.

Step 3

Now draw the outline of a cloud on the rear side of the white adhesive foil and cut it out.

Step 4

Remove the backing paper of the cloud and apply the d-c-fix® foil to the flowerpot. Make sure the straight edge of the cloud is lined up with the flowerpot.

Step 5

Now it’s time to apply the animal face! Use the black adhesive foil for this. Draw two eyes, a nose and a mouth on the back. Then cut them out and stick them in the white section on your flowerpot.

Step 6

Finally, add some decoration: create small details from various adhesive foils. For instance, you could cut small triangles out of the white adhesive foil. These could represent the hair of your animal.
Now your animal flowerpots are complete. Your plants will feel right at home here!

You’re done!
