A strong color that played a key role in interior design in the 1980s and 1990s is making a return: Blue is back!
Classic shades in Navy and Royal blue can be sure to make strong statements and accents. These colors are now being used to lend character to furniture and home accessories and to bring positive power to living spaces. Our DIY upcycling project with d-c-fix® Navy Blue and Royal Blue adhesive films shares the same mission. Why not choose one of these striking shades of blue as a way to give the front of your dresser a completely new look? This will transform it into a stylish piece of furniture that will certainly turn heads.
You will need…
First, you need to measure the drawer fronts.
Then, transfer the dimensions to the backing paper of the adhesive foil and cut the required number of foil pieces to size.
Remove the backing paper from the first piece of foil and line it up with the edge of the drawer.
Use the scraper to press down the adhesive foil piece-by-piece.
Cut away any excess film at the edges using the utility knife. Follow the same steps to glue on the other front pieces.
As a decorative finish, take a suitable blue accent color, draw a large circle on the back of the adhesive film and cut it out. Remove the backing paper and use the scraper to attach the circle to the front panel of the dresser.
We did it!
The fresh, intense blue of the dresser will look really great with new gold-colored handles or knobs. Decorative accessories in gold shades will also add a chic touch.
