Here’s the perfect craft project for holiday fun that banishes boredom or bad weather blues, providing a little diversion at the weekend or a highlight for a child’s birthday: This foosball table is a great project for crafting with children, a fun game for your child’s room, and makes a great-looking decoration. The DIY foosball table game calls for both small and large creative hands, a cardboard box and d-c-fix® adhesive foils in black, white and hunter green to turn the box into a soccer stadium. Ready for kick off with the DIY foosball table? Let’s get started!
You will need…
First, cut the cardboard for the grass to the size of the cardboard base and then apply the green d-c-fix® adhesive film.
Cut thin strips of the white adhesive film to mark the penalty area, center line and center circle on the playing field. Press these strips down firmly with the doctor blade and then install the playing field.
Holes are then marked and cut out for the skewers to which the players will be attached later. To determine the correct position for the perforation, it is best to place a peg on the inner edge of the box so that the bottom of the pegs is sufficiently far from the playing field, then mark the position on the edge with a pencil.
Wind the string around one end of the skewer several times to make a handle and then fix it in place with adhesive. You can wrap the rest of the skewer in black adhesive film.
Push the skewer through the holes and wrap the other end with string and glue it firmly. This will serve as a handle and stopper to prevent the skewers from slipping out of the holes later on. Then place the pegs for the players on the bars and test their correct positioning.
Finally, cut two rectangles of the same size into the two short sides of the box as the goals, and frame them with strips of black adhesive film. The goals must be at least tall enough to allow a ping-pong ball to pass through.
We did it!
For a great-looking finish, you can decorate the outside of the stadium individually with the three d-c-fix® adhesive films and other different-colored decorative adhesive films and cover it in the colors of your favorite team.
