You are sitting comfortably on your sofa. You cell phone, remote control, magazine, book or tablet are all at hand. And you’ve also organized snacks and drinks: now just take a deep breath and enjoy! Doesn’t that sound wonderful? Then start your next DIY project with our tutorial for a practical sofa organizer that you make yourself! Look forward to your new couch buddy which gets the job done and also looks really good!

You will need…

  • d-c-fix® Nordic Elm
  • d-c-fix® Romeo matt white
  • Wooden boards in various sizes:
  • A= Width of the sofa armrest x 30 cm
  • B= Height of the sofa armrest (inside) x 30 cm
  • C= 27 x 30 cm
  • D= 8 x 30 cm
  • E= 20 x 20 cm

  • Screws
  • Cordless screwdriver
  • Pen
  • Tape measure
  • Scissors
  • Utility knife
  • Squeegee

Let’s go!

 

DIY organizer with tray function for the sofa

Step 1

Connect boards A and B with screws at the edge to form a right angle.

Step 2

Connect boards C, D and E with screws to form the storage area of the couch buddy.

Step 3

Now connect both assembled elements with screws at the edges.

Step 4

Now measure the dimensions of the surfaces of the organizer frame, and transfer them to the respective backing paper of the Nordic Elm and Romeo matt white adhesive films.

Step 5

Cut the individual pieces of adhesive film to size.

Step 6

Peel off the backing paper and smooth out the adhesive film firmly with the squeegee. First, apply adhesive to all sides which are going to have the Nordic Elm. Finally, stick the marble-look adhesive film onto the top of the couch buddy.
