A small wall garden made from milk cartons.

Project from Alex -

You can do much more with all the milk cartons that accumulate at home than just throw them away. How about a stylish wall garden, for example?

Project description for a vertical wall garden in your home

You will need…

  • A roll of shabby wood d-c-fix®
  • A roll of concrete d-c-fix®
  • A d-c-fix® application kit containing a smoother and a cutting knife
  • 3–4 milk cartons with coated interiors

  • Plywood board
  • Plants and soil
  • A pencil
  • Ruler

Let’s go

Step 1

Wash out the milk cartons thoroughly and cut them to the desired height with the cutting knife.

Step 2

Measure the cartons and mark the dimensions on the backing paper of the film. Repeat this process with the dimensions of the plywood board.

Step 3

Cut the films to size.

Step 4

Peel off a piece of the backing paper and use the smoother to spread the film onto the plywood board.

Step 5

Cut away the excess film with the cutting knife.

Step 6

Peel off a piece of the backing paper and smooth the film around the cartons using the smoother.

Step 7

Fill the cartons with a layer of clay granules to prevent waterlogging, then add the soil and plants. Attach the boxes to the board with a nail.

Step 8

Now you can either prop your little garden against a wall or hang it up with hooks.

You’re done!
