Kitchen DIY: beautiful labels for your storage jars!

Project from Angelina -

Whether the kitchen is large or small, it’s important to always have an overview when cooking and preparing food. Especially when it comes to kitchen supplies. You can store supplies sustainably, safely and beautifully in transparent jars with lids. The highlight: the labels of the jars are cut to the desired size from black d-c-fix® board foil – and then inscribed with a white chalk pen. If you have a plotter at hand, you can also produce or plot the lettering in the “Uni Matt black” adhesive foil. Both versions are super stylish and look great on an open kitchen shelf!

You will need …

  • d-c-fix® Uni Matt black adhesive foil
  • d-c-fix® blackboard foil
  • d-c-fix® application kit with smoothing blade & utility knife
  • Cloth
  • Measuring tape

  • Ruler
  • Pencil
  • White chalk pen
  • (Storage) jars

Let’s go!

The labels for storage jars can be made as follows:

Preparation

You have everything you need? Then get started!

Step 1

Take the tape measure and determine the desired size of the adhesive label on the supply jar.

Step 2

Transfer the dimensions of the label to the grid on the reverse side of the d-c-fix® chalkboard foil.

Step 3

Clean the entire storage jar thoroughly with a cloth.

Step 4

Then remove the backing paper from the first piece of chalkboard foil.

Step 5

Place the chalkboard foil in the desired position on the jar and press it down with the smoothing blade.

Step 6

You can creatively write and draw on the label with a white chalk pen.

You’re done!
