Project from Angelina -

New year – new home feeling! You’d like to decorate your home with the fastest shelf unit ever? With this DIY, we show how wooden plate holders, ordinary shelves and the dc-fix® “Concrete white” adhesive foil can be turned into a convertible wall shelf unit! The unit can be flexibly adapted to the items placed in it, meaning that decorating and organizing never gets boring. The DIY wall shelf unit can also easily be expanded to the left and right with additional plate holders and shelves in the trendy light concrete look. Wonderfully simple – and simply wonderful!

You will need …

  • d-c-fix® “Concrete white” adhesive foil
  • d-c-fix® application kit with smoothing blade and utility knife
  • Cloth
  • Yard stick
  • Ruler

  • Scissors
  • Ikea Nyplockad plate holder
  • Shelf
  • Screws
  • Cordless screwdriver

Let’s go!

Now follow the tutorial step by step:

Preparation

You have everything you need? Then get started!

Step 1

Clean the shelf thoroughly so that no dirt or dust sticks to it.

Step 2

Use the yard stick to determine the dimensions of the shelf, including an allowance for wrapping around the edges. Transfer the measurements onto the backing paper of the adhesive foil.

Step 3

Cut the piece of foil using the utility knife.

Step 4

Peel off the backing paper from the piece of adhesive foil, position the foil on the shelf and press it down firmly with the smoothing blade.

Step 5

Next, cut the excess foil diagonally at each corner with scissors and wrap it around all the edges of the shelf.

Step 6

Attach the two plate holders in the desired position on the wall of your choice.

Step 7

Finally, insert the concrete-look shelves at the desired height – done!

You’re done!
