Give it a new lease on life: Fabulous upcycling for your nightstand

Project from -

Spring is here! The sun is shining fir longer and it’s warming up outside. In green corners here and there, our eyes can light upon the first flowers in bloom. After a good old spring clean, why not add spring redecoration of your home to your to-do list?

Chic plant pots and the right shelf in pastel colors will bring spring into your home. With d-c-fix®, you can achieve the same look by following the simple instructions in this tutorial. Give it a try!

You will need…

  • d-c-fix® film
  • Wooden boards in the size you need
  • Macramé yarn, 3 or 4 mm
  • Smoothing blade and cutter

  • Scissors
  • Pencil
  • Ruler

Let’s go

Step 1

First, saw the wooden boards and smooth them down with sandpaper.

Step 2

Then wrap the d-c-fix film once around the wooden board to see how much film will be needed.

Step 3

Next, mark the film you need with a pencil and ruler.

Step 4

In the next step, cut the film to size with a cutter and ruler. I have covered only half of my shelves with the foil. That gives the whole thing look a modern and natural look.

Step 5

Now peel off the film piece by piece and smooth it with a doctor blade.

Step 6

Once you have applied the film, you can work on the holes. For this, use a ruler to measure 2 cm from the edge on all four sides and make markings with a pencil.

Step 7

Then take a drill to make holes at the marked positions. When doing this, it is best to place some old wood as a sacrifice board underneath so the hole you drill will be clean.

Step 8

Then cut off two cords to the same length and wrap the ends with a little tape.

Step 9

Finally, thread the cords through the drilled holes and tie a knot at the end.

You’re done!
